Jeet Kune Do
Jeet Kune Do (The Way of the Intercepting Fist)
Bruce Lee took elements of Wing Chun, Boxing, Judo, Fencing and created Jeet Kune Do. For instance our Lop Sau drill is normally done stationary. When applying Lop Sau to someone punching it becomes alive and flowing. Wing Chun relies on Bridging. Jeet Kune Do has many bridging drills. Bridging means to make contact with your opponents limbs (Master fights from the bridge, novice fights from the shore) Jeet Kune Do instruction that teaches the original chinatown JKD which mainly focus on empty hand techniques. This era of JKD was known for it's garage and backyard training groups which focused on the core of JKD, INTERCEPTING. Mobile footwork, bridging the gap, hitting first trapping if needed.
